Day 18

Here's a photo from Day 15.

As of today Alice is doing well. Her weight goes up and down. It went down last night (but it went up the night before). She is still over her birth weight - so that's a good sign.

She's doing well with her breathing but I wouldn't be surprised if she has to be intubated again in the next few days - her lungs are "wet" and she seems to be getting a bit more tired. But we'll see. Everything else is holding steady.

We had cuddles today!

  2. hi pat, (i may have sent this twice!)

Alice looks great. My nephew, elijah was born at 24 weeks and weighed 1 pound. He had lots of ups and downs in the first few months but now he is turning 5 in January and is in great health with no problems at all. If you want to talk to my sister about having a micro-preemie, I know she would love to share her experiences with you. Eli can remember when he was in the NICU! E-mail me at ihp.rachel@gmail.com if you want me to put you and Jackie in touch. - love Rachel

  3. Hi Pat ~
Alice looks so sweet in this new pic.
Lovely to hear that she opens her eyes when you come in to see her, she's looking forward to mum-cuddles as soon as she hears your voice. Congrats on being an Auntie now too!
